Find Some Joy Today

"I hope you find some joy in your Friday" was how a friend ended an email to me last night.  I like that.  I hope to find some joy today.  I hope to find joy every day.
I can't remember who came up with the idea of a joy list but I remember reading about it years ago.  It's just a quick list of the things that make you smile at the moment.  So here's my joy list for today:
The companionable silence of lying next to my husband of 26 years as I do my morning stretch
The dog curled up at my feet
Cool breeze in morning's light
A juicy peach, fresh from the orchard
Memories of Girl Scout day camp
Planned escape from cube farm: Walking in the woods at lunch time
The sound of the ocean
Chats on the phone with my sister
Laughing with my friends
My playlist
This is the day that The Lord has made.  Let us rejoice and be glad in it.  - Psalm 118:24
Here is a  post about joy lists.  What's on your joy list?  Send me a comment with a few items from your list or email me .  I'd love to share your joy.

May your purse always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine on your windowpane. May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you. May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. --- Wishing you always... Walls for the wind, A roof for the rain And tea beside the fire. A Good Week for Geezers

The 75 year old Joan Rivers was crowned the new Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday. On The Biggest Loser show, Helen (who was constantly bemoaning her age vs. the younger people she was competing with) won the whole enchilada. She had lost a total of 140 pounds. And Jerry, who is 64 years old, won the $100K prize for losing almost 48 percent of his body weight. Even the Aussie who was on the show from Australia's Biggest Loser was 57 (my age incidentally). Does this give me hope or add pressure? I'm not so sure. But I'm just happy to know that it's not all about the twenty or thirty somethings.

Notes from 7/20 Bible Study - Things That Are Just

Philippians 4: 8-9 Think on These Things - Things that are Just These are my unedited prep notes.  Apologies for the various fonts - copy/pasted scriptures from various sources 8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest,  whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Intro & Quick review:         Thinking (logizomai) means to take an inventory of, count of, estimate, reckon.      We have discussed thinking on things that are true and things that are honorable and noble.         We have discussed why thinking these thoughts is key to fulfillment in our Christian...
