Colonial Christmas

Chillin' With My Peeps

Wow! What a weekend. I met my friends at National Harbor for what was supposed to be a Girls' Night Away. We booked at room at the beautiful Gaylord National. We hung out on our awesome balcony, went shopping, had a lovely dinner, exchanged gifts, and then turned on the TV to find that the promised snowstrom was no joke and it was already snowing. There were 3 of us but in less than a half hour, I was the only one left. My friends chose to leave before it got too bad. I had a much further distance and as far as I was concerned driving in a blizzard at night wasn't my cup of tea. So I stayed the night and then an another night, finally making my way home today. Wow, we did have snow! All in all it was a great weekend and I'm glad we are all safe and warm and dry. You can see a video of the adventure by clicking on the play button.

I remember how proud I'd be to be a part of that. There was always one kid who forgot his/her lines, occasionally someone would cry, and at least once someone would make everyone laugh. One year that was me. I was always pretty earnest about remembering my lines. My dad said that one year I started saying the wrong line. I got flustered and said "whoops" as I lifted my dress to cover my face. I was too young to remember it but thanks to my dad's recollections I could almost relive it. I remember one Christmas in particular when my mom sent me and my si
