Happy Easter to everyone. This is such a glorious time for a Christian. On Easter I think of a verse that spoke to me many years ago when I was a college student in theology class: 1 Corinthians 15:19 "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men". But glory to God any pity we receive is misguided. Verse 20 says Christ indeed has been raised from the dead!
Here are verses 16-20 from the message translation. I'm so excited reading them that I am doing the Snoopy dance:
" If corpses can't be raised, then Christ wasn't, because he was indeed dead. And if Christ weren't raised, then all you're doing is wandering about in the dark, as lost as ever. It's even worse for those who died hoping in Christ and resurrection, because they're already in their graves. If all we get out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years, we're a pretty sorry lot. But the truth is that Christ has been raised up, the first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries."
And here is a wonderful quote someone posted on Facebook. I don't know its origin but I love its message:
"The greatest man in history had no servants, yet they called Him master. He had no degree, yet they called Him teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called Him healer.
