New Puter

I got a new laptop today.  It’s almost as much fun as a new car.  Actually, there’s not too much to a new car.  You take it for a test drive and then you drive it off the lot.  You may read the owner’s manual and discover a few things but pretty much you have all you need to get going.  A new computer, on the other hand seems to come loaded with secrets.

Every time I buy new hardware, I am amazed by how much easier it is.  I can remember my first PC being this big scary thing.  Words like bios scared the heck out of me. That blinking cursor freaked me out.  Of course, that was DOS.

I remember when I upgraded to XP.  My screen had a big fat button labeled “Turn off computer” but I didn’t realize it was a button.  I thought it was a command. so I hit the power button.  My hard drive lived to tell about it, thankfully.

My new computer is even pretty.  I got one with bees on it because, of course, I love bees.  Ah, the feel of a new machine.

It should even make blogging easier for me.  This could be the start of something wonderful….. or maybe it’s the start of too many nights up past my bedtime.

Nothing OT

I belong to some online groups that are designed to share special interests like reading, cooking, travel, etc. Often replies to a post will get off on a tangent and before you know it, the subject is changed to begin with "OT" for "off topic". In some groups members or moderators will try to abolish off topic posts in order to keep down volume and to keep the posts related to the subject of the mail group. But it's comforting to know that nothing is OT with God. We can go to Him in prayer and pour out our hearts. We can approach Him about anything and everything in our lives and He listens. We don't have to have a religious formula for prayer. If we read something from a prayer book that's okay too if it expresses our hearts. But if the prayer is "HELP" or "God, I can't go on" or even if we lash out in fear or anger, it's okay. It doesn't change the way He feels about us. He loves us unconditionally. He is looking for us ...
