Lloyd and I had a nice day today. We didn't do much. He hasn't been well. But we decided to go out for lunch just to get out for a bit. We went to a local diner, Velentino's. It's a neighborhood restaurant with American and Greek food.
Our entrees came with either 2 sides or a salad and a side. Lloyd ordered 2 sides but I got the salad. When it came, he made some remark about how good it looked, so I put some on his bread plate. We had a sweet little young waitress. When she came by the table, she glanced at the little bit of salad I'd given him. I said "I'm sharing" and she smiled and said "sharing is love".
Later on at the end of the meal, Lloyd ordered pie but I just got coffee. I told her that I was going to remind him that sharing was love. And with that, I took one little forkful of pie, which was just right for me.
It was such a little expression but I can't stop thinking that sharing is love. It is love in action. And that is a dear thought to hold on to this week.
