How We Spent Our Winter Vacation

We had a great Christmas Vacation 2015.  Ginger joined us for fun in the sun and an unseasonably hot time on the Gulf Coast of Florida.  A good time was had by all. Dec. 22 - We toured the Florida Botanical Gardens and enjoyed the lights The Gardens were colorful and beautiful.  We strolled around and also sopped and enjoyed some of the live entertainment.  It was a beautiful evening.

December 17 - Nothing To Say

I got this ornament when my sister and I visited Arizona about seven years ago. We had a marvelous time and I will never forget seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time. I'll say no more. Words cannot do justice and photographs can't capture it.  But I'll give it a try anyway. This song by Andrew Peterson just bowls me over as did Arizona.  I've also added some of my Arizona photos below the YouTube widget.

December 4 - Funky Ornament

This is a most unusual ornament that I bought at a little Christmas shop that used to be in downtown Havre de Grace . The shop has since closed and the owner retired. But the ornament always reminds me of the fun of shopping at small local businesses. The odd thing about this ornament is that the man (presumed Santa) looks like a biker but he's riding a bet and the bee is attached to a cluster of flowers. It was just funky enough for my tastes and also particularly appealing because I love bees.  Does anyone know if I'm missing some pop culture reference here? Here are some HDG Christmas photos. The first one was something like 63 noels and a leon. I'm sure I have the number wrong. Lloyd is down by the railroad bridge (taken a few years back before the COPD started keeping him from being out in the cold. And the 3rd is the GGWO Choir singing at the HDG parade and tree lighting.

December 3 - Santa Dollar

Souvenir From Our Twentieth Anniversary Trip to Florida For our twentieth anniversary Lloyd and I took a trip to Florida. We spent a few days at Disney and then we drove to St. Petersburg. It was a nice break. While we were in St. Pete we were considering possibly moving there. It turned out that neither of us felt like the move was a good idea. I'm glad we listened to God's leading because it was during the housing bubble and we might have been sorry if we bought property then. There were other extenuating things as well but we left there thinking "maybe some day". And we still think that way especially as Lloyd's respiratory system troubles him every winter.  Then again, maybe not.  Once again, I digress... We had a great visit with family that year. Lloyd's son and his wife came out for dinner with us. Another evening we had a fabulous time with my cousin and her husband. I hadn't seen her in over ten years. This ornament is a remembrance tha...
